The world's best John Martyn site just gets better and better. A big thank you to John H. who keeps this place going for all of JM's fans.

I would like to ask a question to all JM's fans who use this site - if they were available, would you buy hi - def FLAC downloads of JM's works?

Currently, the record companies are reticent to invest into new formats if they think there will be little return.

If you are a JM fan and [like me] you would buy FLAC downloads, please contact the record companies and let them know!

Still cannot bring myself to open the box set.... saving it for a really long, quiet weekend with a fridge full of cheeses and some.... no, A Lot of good reds.

Just listened to the Johnny boy would love this.... Tribute album. what an emotive and interesting take on John's works, Road to Ruin - Jim Tullio, how good is that! I get the feeling that this is put together with a lot of thought and a sense a love of the artist by the Artists....

God I still miss the old bugger. Loading up the bonus tracks from the megabox to my iTunes and listening to When It's Dark with tears in my eyes.

Every day I thank the hippy friend of my Dad's who left an unmarked C90 tape at our house after a party with Grace And Danger and Glorious Fool on it. He has been mine and my whole family's constant companion for 30-odd years since then.

Still working my way through this set - it's a pleasure not to be rushed. Absolute delight. Has the Hanging Lamp vinyl been delayed, however?

Box is marvellous. Some cd's are deleted, such as Sapphire and Peace By Piece. So for completists, not from the first hour, it's a wellness for the heart and ears.

A follow up for the WEA-albums and the other ones would be nice.

Box set looks fantastic and just started listening to the glorious The River. Those first couple of albums have a wonderful innocence and musicality. A vinyl version of the whole set would be good.
A remastered version of Then Play On by Fleetwood Mac; a deluxe box set of Family albums and Tescos selling The Essential John Martyn ( a bit of trade description licence there) for £3. These are halcyon days for retro releases indeed.

Excellent box set and a dazzling array of fabulous tracks. In fact everything you could ever want from JM in his musical prime.

The photo album is really nice too. One minor gripe (and it is only very minor) is that there aren't many indications on who's who, in the pictures.
