Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London

Couldn’t make the Vicar Street gig so I decided to head off to London to the Shepherds Bush gig. Delighted I made the effort as John and the girls were in top form. I have been following the tours for some time now and they get better and better. John was in great form joking with the crowd and highlights for me included ‘Excuse me Mister’, from ‘The Church with One Bell’, ‘Sunshine’s Better’ from ‘And Live’ and the acoustic versions of ‘May You Never’, the usual spellbinding rendition of ‘Jelly Roll Blues’ and the superb mix of ‘I Don’t Want To Know’ and ‘My Creator’. Add to these a varied set of songs (as usual no pen to hand to make a note of them…sorry) which provided a different set list to last years tour and all in all the gig went down really well ending with ‘Never Let Me Go’ to a well deserved standing ovation. Well done lads. Looking forward to next time around already.
