Plays Well With Others

Phil Collins is to release a career spanning box set entitled Plays Well With Others on 28 September 2018 that includes his collaborations with a host of artists including Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Robert Plant and of course John Martyn.

The 4CD set includes 59 songs, 5 of which are collaborations with John; Sweet Little Mystery, Could’ve Been Me, Ways To Cry, Suzanne and Can’t Turn Back The Years.

“Some would say I’ve lived a charmed life. I’ve done what I wanted for most of it, and got paid well for doing something I’d have done for nothing,” Collins notes in a press release for the set. “Playing the drums. During that time I’ve played with most of my heroes, most have become close friends. Over these four CDs you’ll find a mere smattering of those moments. I thank the artists for letting me put this CD together, no easy task!”

Universal Music have announced the release of a two CD set celebrating John’s acoustic music; Head And Heart The Acoustic John Martyn.

Gathering together thirty five songs (including four previously unreleased takes) accompanied by a booklet, sleeve notes and memorabilia.

Due for release on 28 April 2017.
